Abstract

This study aims to reveal the dystopian features and the anticipatory energies embedded in the paratext discourse of Oussaini Al-Araj's novel "2084 The Tale of the Last Arab," which presents a pessimistic vision of the future, which the author this passed on through artistic elements that shift between the text and its contextual framework. The research focuses on paratext as semiotic markers with profound and suggestive meanings that require the reader's inferential effort to interpret them. Therefore, analyzing these signs required the use of procedural tools from contextual approaches and a close reading in order to uncover and decode the hidden meanings behind these symbolic codes. This process reveals the writer's intent before diving into the complexities of the text and verifies the interaction between the text and its paratext. الملخص: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن الملامح الديستوبية والطاقات الاستشرافية المتضمنة في خطاب العتبات النصية لرواية 2048 حكاية العربي الأخير لواسيني الأعرج التي تتأسس على رؤية تشاؤمية للمستقبل مررها الكاتب عبر عناصر فنية ترددت بين داخل النص وخارجه، وقد ركزت الدراسة على العتبات النصية بوصفها علامات سيميائية تختزن دلالات إيحائية مكثفة تتطلب من القارئ نشاطا استدلاليا لتأويلها، لذا فقد استدعى استنطاق هذه الدوال التسلح بأدوات إجرائية لمناهج سياقية وقراءة محايدة من أجل التوصل إلى الدلالات الثاوية خلف هذه الشفرات الرمزية وفكها للإفصاح عن مقصدية الكاتب قبل الغوص في دهاليز النص والتأكد من التفاعل الحاصل بين النص ومنصاته.
