Abstract
This course introduces students to the concepts of educational psychology and psychopedagogy, highlighting their similarities, differences, and complementary roles in the teaching and learning process. It explains how educational psychology provides theoretical insights into learners’ cognitive, emotional, and social development, while psychopedagogy focuses on applying these principles to design effective teaching practices and address learners’ educational needs.
Through the analysis of key concepts and classroom situations, the course enables future teachers to distinguish between the explanatory role of educational psychology and the intervention-oriented role of psychopedagogy. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply this knowledge to better understand learning difficulties and make informed pedagogical decisions that promote effective teaching and successful learning.
