Abstract

The impact of interculturality on discourse : A pragmatico-discursive analysis of irony and humor in a corpus of 21st-century works. These are a few works by Amélie Nothomb and Fouad Laroui.Interculturality plays a crucial role in the interpretation of discourse, particularly irony and humor. This study explores the impact of interculturality on these two forms of expression in a corpus of literary works from the 21st century. Drawing on a pragmatico-discursive approach, the analysis reveals that understanding irony and humor requires consideration of textual, contextual, and cultural cues. The co-text and context contribute to the formation of a semantic and notional field that influences the interpretation of discourse. The study highlights the challenges and opportunities associated with interculturality in the analysis of ironic and humorous discourse.
