Abstract

This research examines Shiism in the Islamic East during the first two centuries of the Hijra, exploring its origins, intellectual development, and political revolts, highlighting Abdallah ibn Saba’’s role and the rise and decline of political Shiism. It concludes that hadith scholars’ methods provide the most reliable approach to early Islamic history, and that revolts failed due to power struggles, Iraqi Shiite support, betrayal, and poor preparation.
