Abstract
This study examines Iraq between 1192 and 1258 AD and the profound impact of the Mongol invasion on political, social, economic, and scientific life. It outlines the pre-invasion situation under the Abbasid state, including institutions, libraries, and scholarly activity. The Mongol conquest brought destruction, the collapse of governance, and challenges for scholars, but also influenced the development of scientific and cultural life. Post-invasion, Iraqi scholars migrated, particularly to Egypt under the Mamluks, revitalizing intellectual centers and ensuring the continuity of scientific and educational activity. The research highlights both the disruption and the resilience of scholarly life.
