Abstract

This study examines the historical methodology of the 11th-century historian Ibn Abd al-Barr al-Qurtubi, focusing on his biographies, accounts of military campaigns, biographical dictionaries, and genealogical works. It analyzes his methods of historical documentation, including the use of sources, chains of transmission, and historical criticism, highlighting his approach to verifying texts and evaluating both contemporary and earlier works. The research also presents his life, teachers, students, and scholarly contributions, providing a comprehensive understanding of his historiographical approach.
